How we count
An impression means a person actually saw a product card — not that our API returned it. Every number a founder sees follows from definitions on this page.

The definitions
- Impression — a product card was meaningfully visible to a person: on screen, for long enough to register, reported by their browser after the page loaded. A card scrolled past in a blur is not an impression. A result our API returned to a program is not an impression.
- Product view — someone opened the product’s page on Compasyn.
- Outbound click — someone clicked through to the founder’s own website. This is the number we care most about.
- Click-through rate — outbound clicks divided by product views. So “30.1%” means 30.1% of the people who opened the page went on to the founder’s site.
What an outbound click is not
It is not a visitor, a signup or a customer. It is one click. We never describe it as anything else, in a dashboard or anywhere else.
Filtered traffic
Events that look automated or repetitive are classified as suspicious. They are stored so the decision can be audited, and excluded from every number shown to a founder and from every public number.
We do not publish the detection rules. Publishing them would tell somebody exactly how to stay under them. What we will say is that no number a founder sees includes traffic we judged automated.
We also will not claim this makes manipulation impossible. It does not. It makes it harder, and the filtered events remain on record.
Sample listings
Some listings are clearly-marked synthetic examples used while building. They are labelled as samples wherever they appear and are excluded from analytics entirely.
Where a founder’s numbers come from
One place. Every founder-facing figure is computed by a single analytics layer that applies the exclusions above, so two screens cannot disagree about what a number means.
