What can be listed

Software somebody can actually use today, with a page of its own. That is most of the rule.

Eligible

  • Working software — a web app, a desktop or mobile app, an API, a CLI, an extension.
  • It has its own page that describes it and lets someone start using it.
  • It solves a problem that can be stated in a sentence.
  • Free, paid, open source or commercial — all fine.
  • You are authorised to list it.

Not eligible

  • Waitlists and coming-soon pages. If nobody can use it, nobody searching for it has found a solution.
  • Agencies, consultancies and freelance services. Compasyn lists software.
  • Newsletters, courses, templates and content products.
  • Directories of other products, including ones like this.
  • Anything already listed. One listing per product.
  • Products whose page is dead, parked, or does something other than described.
  • Anything unlawful, or built to deceive.

Rejected at review, most often because

  • The address does not resolve to a working product.
  • The description does not say what the product does.
  • The same product is already listed.
  • It is a service rather than software.

A rejection always comes with a reason, and it is not permanent — fix the thing and submit again.

Judgement calls

Some products sit on a line — a tool that is mostly a template, an API that is really a dataset. A person decides, and if we get it wrong, support@compasyn.com reaches us.
